TATA First Dot - A Look Back

First Dot 2011 - A look back

plane

Last year, for the first time ever, NEN First Dot recognized and supported student entrepreneurs from across India.

141 nominations from 30 cities, top 30 student ventures, a two-day energy-filled event, an award ceremony, an unconference, more than 700 participants and a whole lot of enthusiasm pretty much sums up what First Dot 2011 was all about.

A brain-child of the NEN E Cell in Chennai and the NEN Trust team, First Dot 2011 was a first-of-its-kind initiative, to uncover and showcase the largest number of student start-ups in the country. The showcase offered participating start-ups access to significant business support and media publicity.

The Winners:

The Top 30 student ventures to emerge winners of NEN First Dot 2011 were a varied bunch. An egg-specialty restaurant, a shoe-design firm, and a staffing company for kabadiwalahs were all unique and brilliant enough to make their mark on the judges.

Check out who the Top 30 First Dotters were.

The participants of First Dot 2011 were a happy group. Check out some feedback from NEN First Dot Facebook page:
